Motel One, Piccadilly, Manchester

Located just outside the Whitworth Street conservation area, the site facing Manchester’s Piccadilly Railway Station and wraps around the Monroes public house (the former site of the infamous music venue – The Twisted Wheel).

The honed concrete and bronze anodised aluminium materials help to reconcile the 14 storey building with its neighbours at the same time as providing an appropriate backdrop to the listed Fire Station.

The interior design concept for the public areas was based upon Brit Pop music scene, Industrial Revolution and the Manchester Worker Bee
