Samsone Walk, Worcester
Samsone Walk is in the heart of Worcester City with the main train line running parallel to the site. This is a student accommodation development for 89 bed-sits with communal facilities for the University of Worcester, which aims to reinvigorate a declining part of the town. A key aspiration of the project is not just to provide high quality living space for students, but also to create a landmark building that will increase the profile of the University. The building is clad with a mixture of materials including brick, render and curtain walling, with solar shading provided by louvresover large glazed areas. Whilst sitting well within its context, the contemporary design of the scheme provides a contrast between the old and new.
